Degree Overview

In this course you will explore Biology as the study of every aspect of life, from drug discovery and vaccinations for diseases to environmental factors and climate change. This cutting-edge biology degree offers topics as diverse as cancer therapeutics, applied plant ecology and neuroscience.

Through this course you will develop the skills to address some of the world’s greatest problems, from sustainable food production using plant-based products to how we treat Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. You’ll have the chance to put your learning into practice through laboratory sessions and fieldwork, plus an international placement.

This degree programme provides the scientific training and transferable skills you need to become a professional scientist. The International Year Zero is the first year of the four year undergraduate course. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen University undergraduate degree course.

Following successful completion of the IYZ, you will continue onto Year One of your degree directly with the University of your choice.
