At postgraduate level, the PM provides you with the advanced skills you need to continue on to your chosen postgraduate degree. Providing either one term (10 weeks) or two terms (20 weeks) of preparation for entry into a 1-year master’s degree in Business and Management, Computing or Engineering.

Curriculum

As well as modules unique to your specific pathway, you will also study several modules that are common to all pathways.

Common modules

The aim of this module is to develop your existing English language ability to prepare you for study at master’s level. Goals include raising your performance from a minimum of 6.0 IELTS to 6.5 IELTS (with no skill below 5.5) or higher, as well as increased confidence and competence in the use of English for postgraduate studies.

The aim of the module is to introduce students to the structure, demands and expectations of postgraduate study across a range of subject disciplines (currently Business and Computing) in the UK. There is an emphasis on the development of advanced academic skills with emphasis on the VLE and the role of IT and of the Internet and specialist sites and journals that may be accessed digitally.

This course aims to broaden your skillset and understanding of computing and IT infrastructure, focusing on cyber security and technical project management.

Engineering

This course aims to broaden your skillset and understanding of engineering, focusing on electronics, quality management principles, and process improvement.

Business and Management

This course aims to broaden your skillset and understanding of modern-day business and management practices, focusing on strategy and implementation.
