Positive Behaviour Support

This module explores behavioural approaches to promoting ordinary life outcomes for people with learning disabilities (but not exclusively). The module provides students with an understanding of positive behavioural interventions and systems, and an in-depth understanding of the methods used in functional assessments to lead to the development of function-based interventions.

Principles of Clinical Neuropsychology

The School of Psychology at Bangor brings together a large group of outstanding scientists with international research reputations in neuropsychology and in clinical and cognitive neuroscience. Some of Bangor University staff also hold appointments as consultants with the NHS and contribute to clinical practice as well as to the training of medical students and staff.


At Bangor University, Psychology MA is a new course designed to offer advanced study in psychology with an emphasis on both research excellence and critical writing skills. Following two semesters of academic study, students write a stand-alone literature review in an area of psychology that particularly appeals to students.


The Psychology MSc course has been developed for students who are interested in developing their knowledge and ability in Psychology in general. Further, this course will be a good option for individuals who would like to develop their professional and academic skills but do not intend to pursue a research career in psychology.

Applied Behaviour Analysis

This programme is aimed at students who wish to specialise in applied behaviour analysis. The course is designed to develop advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the basic principles of behaviour analysis and the application of the principles within clinical and research settings.
