Degree Overview

You’ll learn to code in several languages, starting with the Java programming language, which is widely used in industry.

You’ll have access to academics who are pushing boundaries with their research. Kent is an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research as well as being experts in programming languages and artificial intelligence.

An accredited degree gives you the knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Some employers prefer graduates from accredited degrees, and your degree is also more likely to be recognised in other countries if you’re looking to work abroad.

The International Year Zero is the first year of the four year undergraduate course. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen University undergraduate degree course.

Following successful completion of the IYZ, you will continue onto Year One of your degree directly with the University of your choice.

Scholarships

We can offer you up to £4,500 off tuition of your pathway programme.

Please note you’ll have to apply for a pathway scholarship and only a selection of students will be awarded.  For more information on the scholarships we offer to international students please contact us.

2024/25: All international students will receive 16% of University of Kent tuition fees per year, for students moving into a degree from all our pathway routes. These are available for students from all countries and are automatic on application. For more information please contact admissions or your in-country representative.
