Dundee graduates have also used their law degrees, and the transferable skills they have acquired, to achieve success in many other fields, including rising to the highest levels of the Diplomatic Service.
Dundee’s 3 year LLB in English Law satisfies the academic component of training to become a barrister in England & Wales and is a recognised law degree for the purposes of admission to the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and qualification for the legal professions in Northern Ireland.
The English Law LLB provides an excellent foundation for students who wish to take the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) or indeed to qualify as lawyers in many common law jurisdictions globally. For example, each year Dundee graduates from Canada and Nigeria return home to complete their national legal practice qualifications. We maintain strong ties to the NCA and other common law regulatory bodies to ensure that our students know what steps to take to complete their national qualifications.
