This top-up programme is designed for Level 5 students who have completed education to an HND level (Level 5) in the UK or hold an international equivalent qualification in an Art & Design or Business subject, wishing to gain a BA (Honours) qualification in Fashion Management in one year.

The focus of the programme is on fashion business and management, and you will learn about fashion buying, marketing, innovation and entrepreneurship to equip you with a thorough understanding of the product development management process from product conception to point of sale. The curriculum concludes with an individual industry-focused major research project, with the flexibility to tailor your project towards either Marketing, Management, Buying or Trend in order to pursue your own area of interest.

This course gives you the chance to take up a one-year placement opportunity within or outside the UK. Our students have experienced life at Tommy Hilfiger, O'Neill, Next, Marks & Spencer, Reiss, George, Selfridges, River Island, Joules, G-Star, Mamas & Papas, and at several supply bases. Many go on to work for these big brands, or are now running their own successful businesses.

Your Pathways

The International Year 2 (IY2) is equivalent to the second year level study of a three-year undergraduate degree. It supports international students who wish to complete their undergraduate studies by joining the third year of your chosen degree.

This three-term programme provides an intensive combination of more advanced subject specific content with the opportunity to develop their language and academic study skills as elements of a focused 30-credit module, while studying your chosen degree related modules, earning them the remaining 90 of the 120 second-year credits.

Upon successful completion of the IY2, you will continue to the final year of your chosen degree.
