Birkbeck’s innovative LLM Law with Law and New Technologies is a research-led course that focuses on how new technologies are transforming the way society operates – the way we communicate, the way we work, the way we do business, the way we travel – and the profound consequences of these changes for the law. It offers you the conceptual tools and practical knowledge needed for a critical understanding of the two-way relationship between law and technology.

The course is centred around seminars in which you will discuss contemporary challenges posed by new technologies. You will study technology as a historical and social phenomenon in order to put urgent contemporary problems, from climate change to AI, into a wider context.
