The Department of Elementary, Middle and Secondary Teacher Education (EMSTEd) offers a wide variety of programs and degrees for those interested in becoming a teacher (initial certification). Middle School certification prepares teachers for grades 5 – 9. Secondary (high school) certification prepares teachers for grades 8 – 12.
