Using analytical and modelling techniques you will develop your engineering skills and knowledge to meet the increasing demands of modern civil engineering.
You will develop your skills, knowledge and understanding in both structural engineering and concrete materials and see how the two areas relate to each other.
You will also study a variety of engineering and research topics including computational analysis of structures, concrete materials and environmental management.
Under the guidance of our academic staff, you will have the opportunity to undertake an industrially relevant research project. Recent project examples have looked at sustainable self-compacting concrete and dynamic analysis of cable-stayed bridges.
You could have a career in most sectors of the profession including: concrete industry, engineering consultancy, engineering contracting, the offshore industry, research organisations, structural engineering and environmental protection.
Graduates have gone on to secure positions in a variety of sectors including: Graduate Structural Engineer at SWECO (European engineering consultancy company) and Solutions Assistant at Everis (Global IT company).
The Pre Masters Program will prepare you for the UK, EU or US study system, giving you the confidence and skills that you’ll need to go further in your studies. Depending on your academic qualification and English language level and chosen programme, you can study the IIM over one or two terms.
