The Earth is facing major environmental challenges such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and over-exploitation of natural resources.
Addressing these issues requires effective legal and policy tools, internationally, nationally, and locally. The course will offer you a broad range of knowledge, covering the structures, principles, and institutions of environmental law, both at the domestic and the international levels.
You will develop the skills needed to pursue a career in this area of law and policy. Knowledge of environmental law is increasing relevance for the commercial world.
This course gives you an understanding of the main legal issues related to environmental protection and sustainable development. The choice of modules and dissertation topics allow you to focus on the environmental and sustainability issues that are important to you.
All modules are delivered by experts in their field. Guest lecturers may also visit, either within modules or as a separate event. A wide variety of external activities are offered including a residential study trip for all students.

Graduates of this course have gone on to work in a variety of fields such as: environmental law practices, central government, environmental agencies, non-governmental organisations.
The Pre Masters Program will prepare you for the UK, EU or US study system, giving you the confidence and skills that you’ll need to go further in your studies. Depending on your academic qualification and English language level and chosen programme, you can study the IIM over one or two terms.
